I imagine there would be nothing nicer on a rainy day than to have tea at the The Tower of Cosmic Reflections Tea Room. There was actually nothing nicer than to have tea when we were there on a dry balmy day in September. And with a name like Tower of Cosmic Reflections Tea Room, who would not be curious?
We stopped in after our afternoon visit to the Lan Su Garden. The Tower of Comic Reflections is the tea house and part of Lan Su Gardens /https://lansugarden.org/ in Portland, Oregon. We chose to have our tea upstairs, overlooking the gardens on one side and the city on the other. There are windows on the two sides of the length of the tea room. The windows were opened and a breeze flowed through the room.
I wasn’t surprised to learn that all varieties of tea at the Tower are sourced from The Tao of Tea https://taooftea.com/. Teas from the Tao of Tea were always my favorite tea to drink when I lived in Portland. A good choice, if you have trouble making up your mind, is The Eight Treasures. We turned it into a real afternoon treat by getting vegetable dumplings and bao (steamed buns). And if you find a tea you really like you can buy it on your way out.
