Come in Autumn to Santa Fe! Any time is a good time to visit Santa Fe. But what a treat it is to be here in the Fall. I am rarely in town on a Saturday but a few weeks ago I visited on a short errand. I was caught by surprise once again at just how stunning everything is at this time of year. So with much regret and to avoid a parking ticket, instead of lingering, I rushed back to my car after my errand.
But I promised myself I would return on Monday morning to meander at will. The city deserved such attention and I too, deserved to briefly have no other care in the world. This was in spite of the fact I would be leaving very early Tuesday morning for Palm Springs. I packed my bag Sunday and on Monday morning I aimlessly rambled through the color of my own city.
One block from the river, on Don Diego, the St. Francis Hotel was wearing it’s colors of red against blue.

November...Enjoying Autumn in Santa Fe
Thanksgiving and Christmas Event takes place every year the day after Thanksgiving. Santa and Misses Claus are brought into town and little ones can give tell them their wish list. All the farolitos and the lights in the plaza are lit.
Recycle Santa Fe happens this weekend beginning November 12, and I can’t wait. If you can’t make it this year put it on your bucket list for next year. This is the largest and oldest recycled art festival in the U.S. https://www.recyclesantafe.org/
One last note: The trees in the mountains surrounding Santa Fe turn colors at the beginning of October. Aspen trees are plentiful in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Be prepared to be awe struck on the winding roads that take you up to up to the ski lodge.
