It was safe to come out again. Snowbound no more, all I wanted was someone, other than myself, to serve me a very hot cup of tea. That place, and a very special place for me, would be The Tea House in Santa Fe: https://teahousesantafe.com/
Not only do they have a long and varied selection of wonderful teas. You can go all the way with a varied menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This time my idea of a relaxing morning after a snowbound week, was a hot cup of Rooibos and a scone. The scones, by the way, are super good here. They are made even better with clotted cream and house-made lemon curd on the side. Michael opted for a latte and apricot pastry.
I think I was too busy sinking back into my chair and looking at the sun rays coming in streams over the table next to us. When our server asked me what kind of Rooibos I wanted I sort of closed my eyes and let my finger fall on one of the eight varieties. I can’t tell you which one I choose, but it was definitely a special treat. So be forewarned: if you go for tea at the Tea House in Santa Fe there are not only Matcha, Oolong, Rooibos, Black, Green and “More”. There is a list of variety coming from all over the world. After all, this is the tea house. Check out the the flavored black teas here for an example: https://teahousesantafe.com/collections/flavored-black-tea
And don’t be scared when you read the varieties of Oolong! (They are no doubt all equally good.)
At the Top of Canyon Road
Although The Tea House in Santa Fe was my choice for an icy day in January, it is a good choice any time. It is at the very top of the half mile walk up Canyon Road. If you are visiting Santa Fe, Canyon Road is a must! Santa Fe is without doubt the primary art scene of the Southwest.
